SASSY & SOUTHERN

My Mother-In-Law and I are sassy southern ladies down to the core.
How can you tell?
~We always say Ma'am and Sir~
~The Phrase "bless her heart" comes up several times a day~
~We don't sweat, we glisten~
~Ya'll ask "how's the weather" we answer "humid"~
~Everyone is Dahlin'~
~sundresses, pearls, and flip-flops~
AND
~WE HAVE MORE FUN THAN SHOULD BE ALLOWED~

No wonder we get along so great!

The most important rule of a southern lady- the way to a man's heart is through him tummy! We love to cook for our husbands and are always trying new recipes and improving the ones we find. My Mother-In-Law and I are often asked for recipes, so... We decided to start a blog. Enjoy our recipes and tips; and feel free to make them your kind of sassy!

Fried Apples

With the Autumn season comming. I thought i would liven up the kitchen with some Autumn smells. My family adores these, and i think yours will too.

Fried Apples.
6 medium sized red apples, Peeled and sliced.
Place in medium sized frying pan with two large Tablespoons of butter on medium high heat.
Add 1 table spoon of cinnamon
1 tablespoon of Nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon of ginger
1 teaspoon of vanilla flavoring.
1 cup of sugar
stir untill all apples are coated.
Cook over medium high heat until apples just start to get tenderm stirring frequently.
Remove from heat, and place in a square baking dish to cool. Stir occasionally while cooling. These get better as they cool and set.
I like to just leave a bowl of these on the kitchen table when the family is at home. Everyone that walks by has to have a nibble!
